It’s a Tuesday today, and I don’t have my usual “after-work appointment” ..not a date, don’t worry. So, I resorted to blogging since I have extra time.
Today’s featured restaurant is Pho Hoa. It’s a Vietnamese restaurant offering mainly Vietnamese noodles. Of course, Vietnam is worldly-renowned for their noodles anyway.

Gỏi Cuốn is Vietnamese spring rolls. It is rice noodle, iceberg lettuce, bean sprouts, juliene pork slices, and shrimp (I had this removed due to allergy) rolled up in rice paper. This goes with two dipping sauces (nuoc chams): one is vinegar w/ sugar and chili paste; the other is a hoi sin sauce, w/ plum, and peanuts. I, being a fan of spring rolls, loved this! Specially dipped in hoi sin sauce! Superb!

Phở Chín, Bò Viên is basically a noodle soup with brisket and meat balls. This is in the Pho-Noodle Soup-For The Beginners menu section. Since we’re first timers, we ordered the basic. Aside from it being large (I think we ordered FAMILY size), the broth was sooo tasty (and refillable too! :)… the meat was sooo tender it melts in your mouth. I enjoyed it more with my own concoction of hoi sin sauce, some chili paste and broth.
I have to tell you, I’m not a fan of noodles so it took a lot of courage and curiosity for me to try this. But Pho Hoa did not fail me. You can see their full menu here.
