I hope everybody shared food (and love) last Valentine week.
After the CYMA review, I can’t decide what to write about next. I have a lot of back-up stories (halata sa nagbubuild-up na bilbil) but I wanted to feature something simpler. So when I went home to my hometown in LAGUNA over the weekend, I found a perfect delicious topic— SIOMAI (I know, the title is lame, again..haha).
In my hometown, there has been a very famous “siomai house” which has been around for maybe a decade or so. Every student has eaten here especially in times of hardship (you know what I mean…no more money!). For about Php 25-30, you can have a full “student” meal. 3 pieces of steamed siomai with a cup of rice, soy sauce with calamansi and chili, and some dried garlic. We all know that signature place — PAPU’s SIOMAI. (though personally, I prefer Siomai Food Haus more)
SIOMAI
Type: we all know what’s siomai 🙂
Price: ala carte PHP 17; combo meals range from PHP 23-30
Serving: 3pcs siomai good for 1 (it’s up to you if you’re willing to share..haha)
But lately, my “friend” introduced me to the new entrée in PAPU’s menu.
PORK BBQ
Type: meat, definitely MEAT! 🙂
Price: ala carte PHP 15; combo meals range from PHP 23-30
Serving: 1 stick good for 1 person (probably you’ll ask for more..haha)
They now offer pork BBQ. For Php 30, you get a stick of pork BBQ, a cup of rice, a side dish of vegetable or pancit, a glass of iced tea, and a complimentary soup; talk about value for money! How about the taste? I’m telling you, you wouldn’t find anything more sulit than this! (Sorry, I wasn’t able to take picture of the combo meal)
For Php 15, the pork BBQ is superb! The meat is sooo tender and tasty because it’s marinated. I was so hooked I ate this 3 times over the weekend. Hahaha
Thumbs up if you can relate LB people! Hopefully I’d be able to feature more local food here and there (isaw, Raymundo proven, Siomai Food Haus, etc.)
Watch out for more posts..I’m still trying to find time to blog. I hope you’ll bear with me.
‘Til the next food trip!
